Home Care for healthy gums

Home care to prevent normal gum changes of pregnancy from becoming more unpleasant and severe includes:

  • Eating more fruits and vegetables, which are rich in vitamin C. A calcium- rich diet is also good for your teeth.
  • Swishing with an antiseptic mouthwash several times a day. Spit it out; don't swallow it.
  • Using a soft bristle toothbrush that does not cause your gums to bleed.
  • Brushing more frequently and certainly after each meal. Get used to carrying an extra toothbrush and tube of toothpaste in your purse or briefcase.
  • Flossing regularly, at least once a day.
  • Considering the use of an ultrasonic toothbrush, which is more effective than a regular toothbrush in removing plaque? It may also be friendlier to your sensitive gums.
  • Avoiding sticky candy and other sweets. Toffee, figs, and other sticky stuff is likely to collect in the swollen crevices, so satisfy your sweet tooth with less sticky stuff.
